July 17-20, 2023 VA District Kids Camp is an annual gathering for the children of the Virginia District Church of the Nazarene, for kids that completed grades 1 to 5. We gather together in July at the Virginia District Retreat Center for a week focused on Jesus Christ full of fun and engaging activities. Camp is a foundational event in the spiritual life of our children and can prepare them for a lifetime of serving Christ.

Dear Virginia District Family, Greetings in the strong name of our Resurrected King, the Savior of the World, Jesus Christ. Every year our District has been blessed to be a blessing by giving to a Special NCM Project that culminates at our District Assembly (renamed as The Great Gathering this year!). Last year, we raised $22,925.63 for the Ukraine Path of Hope! Praise the Lord! Look what God can do! This year, it was clear to your NMI Council that God is calling us to be a part of meeting the needs in Syria and Turkey following the devastating earthquakes that hit them so hard beginning this February. The SYRIA EARTHQUAKE RESPONSE is helping the Nazarene churches in Syria who are tirelessly meeting the needs of those around them. The initial response has been focused on distributing food, providing needed supplies like blankets, milk, power banks, hygiene items, (Crisis Care Kits!), tents, and sheltering people whose homes were destroyed. Our NCM Offering 2023 is the SYRIA EARTHQUAKE RESPONSE. You can prepare to give to this offering at our Great Gathering (formally called DIG or District Assembly), by CASH or CHECK, or give now at ncm.org/syria or mail a check. The Great Gathering Schedule

Dear Follower of Jesus, John Wesley wrote: “God does nothing but by prayer, and everything with it.” On June 27 we will start a week known as “THE GREAT GATHERING.” This week is intentionally about Equipping Inspiration Prayer Ministry Recognition and Credentialing Spirit Filled Worship Decision Making Accountability We could schedule this meeting. We could hold this meeting. We can invite people to the meeting. We can advertise the meeting. We can promote the meeting. We can plan thousands of details. What we cannot do is manufacture the spirit of worship, of humility, of passion to hear from God. Will you join other Virginia Nazarenes in 21 days of prayer? To assist in this prayer we have prepared a 21 day prayer guide, complete with a devotional written by a Virginia Nazarene, giving directions for our prayer focus. In addition to specific daily requests we ask you to join in praying every day for: God’s Presence: Pray for the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit on our Gathering – We need HIS Presence (Exodus 33:1-16, esp. v 16) Godly Humility: Pray that God’s conviction will be in our gathering and in our hearts – Pray that as God’s people we will humble themselves (2 Chronicles 7:14) God’s Presence: Pray that the Freedom of God to lead our Gathering – The Spirit has permission to abandon any “script” or plan we have created in favor of the Spirit’s Agenda. (2 Corinthians 3:17) Enlarged Vision: Pray that everyone who attends the Great Gathering will leave with an enlarged vision of what God’s mission is to our world, and specifically in our communities, and our churches. It has been almost one month since the launch of the new Funding the Mission website. We hope you have been able to login and explore the new website, and we thank you so much for your generous giving. As we are communicating with our users, we wanted to send some helpful tips to our generous partners. Tip #1 – Remember that if it is your first time logging into the website, although your email username should be the same as the previous site, you will need to reset your password first. For a how-to guide on this process, please visit this link and select “How to Change your Nazarene Account Password.” Tip #2 – All users must use a personal account to enter FTM 3.0. You will not be able to use an account of a previous treasurer or pastor. To set your own account, contact us at stewardship@nazarene.org and provide the information found at this link. Tip #3 – FTM 3.0 has a drop-down menu to select your giving options on the contributions page. Remember to select your giving category first and then select the drop-down menu below that window to send a specific fund gift. Tip #4 – FTM 3.0 does not have a “write-in” option like the previous website. However, under the fund menu, you will find a “Search for Additional Project” option that allows you to search for a specific project (see picture below). Training Track Offered This is a parenting course on how to be a good mother church. It covers why a mother church is essential to the planting process, how to identify, train, and equip a church plant leader, and even how to birth a church that can stand on its own two feet after launch. If you feel called to give birth to a church plant from your local church this track is essential to having a healthy live birth.
